Square and parking facility
New town square and extension and refurbishment of adjacent parking garage in central Lyngby near Copenhagen.
The new town square design includes new vegetation, street furniture and paving, creates a new quality urban space between the department store, the DIY centre and the parking garage. The square, which currently is used only for parking, will also include a number of market stalls which will extend the shopping activities into the square. The existing parking garage structure will have two additional floors added and thereby relieving the need for parking in the square. The structure will be clad in vertical bands of fabric which gives a soft and textured backdrop to the square.
